    Description

    Offered for sale is an antique/vintage (ca.1900-1940) bronze Khmer  style Buddhist temple guardian lion from Thailand. Larger guardian lions in the Khmer style can be seen outside the entrances to Buddhist temples throughout Thailand. It is decorated with gold gilt accents and has acquired a dark green patina due to age. It is in good antique/vintage condition with wear and imperfections consistent with age and use - there are some small pits on the surface and the gold gilt has a darkened patina. The guardian lion measures 7 1/2" high, 5" long, 3 1/4" high, and weighs 3 pounds.
