    Description

    Offered for sale is a very nice dinner plate in the "Royal Lace" pattern of Depression Glass.  This pattern was manufactured by the Hazel Atlas Glass Company from 1934-1941, although cobalt blue was not made during the entire run.  In fact, at the end of its run, mostly clear was made and it was sold through Sears.  This dinner plate is cobalt blue, a beautiful color in Depression Glass.  The plate measures 9 7/8 inches - almost 10 inches across.  I identified this pattern in the book "Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression Glass" by Gene and Cathy Florence (16th edition, copyright 2004), although I bought and sold Depression Glass for many years.  The plate is in very good, used condition with what we used to call "IRR" or inner rim roughness.  In other words, the outer edge of the plate is in excellent condition while the inside edge of the plate has inner rim roughness.  I have shown this in pictures 7 & 8.  You can feel it when you run your finger around the inside edge of the plate.   This in no way detracts from the beauty of the plate or the usefulness of the plate.  The plate has a few minor scratches but is in surprisingly-good condition for its age.  Please see all of the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase.  You will really enjoy using this plate.  Thank you for visiting my eBay Store and Happy Shopping!
